BIO
Bobby Ray has been singing and writing music for over 40 years. He grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and spent much of his time singing/playing in church. He's been a part of several bands over the years, his most notable being Penitent Heart in the 90's. Recently, his new band is taking form. "The Great Train Wreck" will be making appearances soon all over Nashville.
Since moving to Nashville in 2021, he has taken the music scene by storm. He plays 20-25 times each month, as well as hosting two of his own songwriter rounds. Bobby Ray's greatest influence is Johnny Cash. Folsom Prison Blues was the song that inspired him to learn to play guitar. At four years old he would play that song for dimes. His other influences include Simon & Garfunkle, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor and REO Speedwagon. Bobby has a unique sound and a way with words that the listener is transported into the story he is telling. |
"Some of these have such classic and genuine aesthetic that it feels like you've been listening to them for years on the radio and the way that he just kind of lets it all out with his music is a little invigorating." BuzzSlayers
